Cambrils Park: Guide to El Pescador & El Pinaret Park in Cambrils, Spain

Page Content

There are two parks to be found in Cambrils. One is located on the beachfront - El Pescador Park. The other is located further uptown, next to the old part of town - El Pinaret Park. They both offer a place to spend a couple of hours as an alternative to the beach. Both offer children's play areas.

El Pescador park also offers a cafeteria, whilst El Pinaret Park offers picnic tables where you can take your own packed lunch. If you are looking for somewhere more secluded, El Pinaret Park is located further from Cambrils centre and is very quiet. El Pescador Park is more central and offers a wider range of activities (see below), so there are generally more people there.

This page provides photos and details for both parks in Cambrils.

El Pescador Park

El Pescador Park is located right next to the tourist information office in Cambrils' marina area. It is a picturesque park with different sections offering something to see and do for both young and old. The park was the first to be built in Cambrils and was built in honour of the town's fishermen.

El Pescador Park is 5,000 metres squared in size. In general, in terms of plant life, Mediterranean plants can be found to the south of the park and tropical plant life can be found towards the centre.

Facilities in El Pescador Park

There are a grand total of three children's play areas located inside El Pescador Park. They are dotted at various intervals throughout the relatively small park, so you cannot miss them.

Towards the centre at the left hand side of the park there is an area for playing petanque (boules). Even if you don't fancy playing, it is fun to take a seat on one of the nearby benches and watch the old local men battling it out on the sand.

At the very front of the park you will find a secluded pond area. This is a lovely place to while away the hours in the early evening. Overlooking the beach, there are benches all around the edge of the pond, offering a front row seat whilst the sun sets over the ocean.

Located just to the right of the park's main entrance you will find a café and bar called 'Parc Lounge'. The café shares the same opening hours as the park itself (see below). It offers both hot and cold food including sandwiches and tapas. It also serves ice creams, coffees, cold drinks and snacks. There is a both an in side and an outside area to the café. The outside area is located right next to one of the children's play areas - offering you the chance to grab a cup of coffee in peace whilst the kids remain within view.

Facilities in El Pinaret Park

There is no café in El Pinaret park - if you wish to find drinks and snacks you will need to head out of the park and into the old town, which is next to the main entrance. Here you will find lots of options for shops and cafés.

The park is divided in four main areas. The first area, on entering the park, is a paved public square. This area contains a solar pergola. It also has spectator stands, meaning that outdoor events can take place here.

The second area as you walk through the park is an area known as the 'green classroom area'. This area is an agricultural plot and is said to contain lots of various regional species of plant life.

The next area is more like a forest. It provides shade from the midday sun underneath the distinctive pine trees. This area is dotted with picnic benches, making it a place to enjoy your lunch in the shade.

There is also a small children's play area located at the back of the park. This includes a sections that is dedicated to teaching children about traffic safety.

Cambrils' two parks both offer an opportunity to get away from the hustle bustle during tourist season, whilst still enjoying the 'great outdoors'. El Pescador Park is packed with activities to keep all of the family occupied. El Pinaret Park is more sprawling but it is definitely worth a visit whist you are up in the old town, especially if you have plans for a picnic.
