Tryp Port Cambrils Hotel is one of Cambrils' newest offerings. It sits between the port and the beach areas in the town centre, a 100 metre walk from the seafront. From the outside it is a modern structure, with square balconies and sharp edges that give it the appearance of a conference centre.
The lobby area is light and bright, with white walls and large windows allowing the sunshine in. The hotel is probably one of the largest in the town centre, offering many of the amenities that you will find at the hotels along the Avenida Diputacio, whilst also providing the convenience of being close to the top class bars and restaurants that are in the port area of Cambrils.

Hotel Facilities
Tryp Port Cambrils Hotel has two outdoor swimming pools that are open to all customers. They are unheated and are open all year round. However, depending on the weather, once it becomes colder, there is no longer a life guard at the pool. A rope around the pool signals the fact that you are free to use it, but you do it at your own risk. The pool is surrounded by loungers. During the summer months (these vary depending on the weather), there is a small shop in the pool area where you can buy ice creams, drinks and snacks.
The hotel contains a fitness area with running machines, cycling machine and bikes. There are also two saunas - one for men and one for women. These facilities are open to all customers of the hotel. The opening hours are 11:00 - 23:00. During quiet times you may need to ask one of the staff at reception to turn on the sauna for you.
Other services in the spa include specific treatments such as manicures and massages. These are not included in the room price will cost more again. The hotel recommend that you give at least 24 hours notice if you wish to book one of these services.
There is a bar in the hotel located on the ground floor, in the lobby area. It is open from 10:30 - 00:00 midnight during the week and from 10:30 - 01:00 at weekends. The bar serves both soft and alcoholic drinks. It also offers sandwiches and snack food.
There is a restaurant located in the basement of the hotel. This is where buffet breakfast is available from 08:30 - 10:00. This space is opened again in the evenings for a buffet dinner from 20:00 - 22:00. The buffet breakfast offers an impressive array of options. There are various stands located around a large dining area. A whole section is dedicated to fruit and mueslis, whilst another is piled with pastries and cakes and another offers hot foods such as bacon, eggs, sausages and beans. There is also the option to have an omelette made fresh for you and to order, with a range of ingredients including ham, cheese, peppers and onions. A variety of daily newspapers are available for you to read over breakfast, however it is a shame that none of these are provided in languages other than Catalan and Spanish.
Pets are not allowed to stay in the hotel.
Room service is available. However, I found that this did not always meet the standards that I might expect from a four star hotel. Ice is not available to your room. Although, during my stay the reception staff did kindly oblige and find me a few chunks of ice from the bar in the lobby.
Smoking is not permitted in any of the rooms of the hotel. However, each room has a balcony area, so if you get the urge to have a cigarette in the middle of the night you can simply step out into your balcony without the fear of setting off any smoke alarms!
Short Stay rooms are not available.
The hotel offers a bicycle rental service. The cost is €3.00 for one hour, €10.00 for four hours and €15.00 for the whole day.
Facilities for the Disabled
There a total of 2 rooms in the hotel that have been adapted for wheelchair users. They have widened doors and adapted showers. The hotel offers wheelchair access to all areas. Unfortunately there is no wheelchair lift access for use of the outdoor pool.

There are a total of 8 meeting rooms in Tryp Port Cambrils Hotel, with a maximum capacity of 350 people. The meeting rooms all offer the latest technology for holding meetings and giving presentations. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Rooms
There are a total of 156 rooms in the hotel. Of these, there are four Junior Suites (sleeping up to four people), 20 of the rooms are interconnected (allowing families to use two separate rooms that are joined by a connecting door) and there are four family rooms, sleeping up to four people. All rooms offer a television, hairdryer, range of toiletries, a mini bar, safety deposit box, iron and ironing board. The television offers channels in a variety of languages, including French, German and English. The channels that were available in English were all news channels, however those in German and French also seemed to be offering entertainment and film options.
There is a Wi-Fi connection in the rooms, however there is an extra charge for using the connection. It costs €6.00 every 12 hours.
Check-in time is 02:00 and check-out time is 12:00 noon.
Hotel Location
Tryp Port Cambrils Hotel is one of the most central hotels in Cambrils. It is located just behind the Marina area and at the start of the long Avenida Diputacio, leading to Salou. It is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the main stretch of restaurants in the port area. This also ensures that it is only a ten minute walk from the tourist information office and the picturesque Parc del Pescador.
Some of the town centre's most enjoyable restaurants are less than five minutes walk from the hotel. These include the fondue restaurant La Cua Curta and the seafood restaurant Montserrat.
If you wish to venture to the old town of Camb rils, this is slightly further away. You can reach it by walking along the seafront and then heading up the river until you reach it on your left. However, this is about a 30 minute walk. Alternatively, you could hire one of the bikes available at the hotel (see above) or take a taxi.
The beach is visible from the balconies of the hotel and is a two minute walk away.
How to get there from Cambrils train station:
Via Taxi: The hotel is a 10 - 15 minute taxi ride from Cambrils train station. The taxi journey will cost €7.00.
By Foot: The hotel is a 20 - 30 minute walk from Cambrils train station. You are unlikely to wish to walk if you are travelling with luggage.
